Identifying important stakeholders is the first step to improving a specification. The stakeholders are people, groups, organizations, inside and outside a company, that have a legitimate interest in a manufacturer’s product finish.
The number and type of stakeholders varies based on the scope of your project. If you are modifying a current process fewer people will have interest.
If however, you need to create a new specification for a new product or process, then the whole organization may want to give input.
The perspective of a stakeholder is based on their place in the manufacturing process. When seeking their input it is helpful to recognize where they are in the overall process. It is much easier to get participation when we begin by walking in their shoes.
