PAINT CONTAINS THREE PRIMARY TYPE OF INGREDIENTS:

  • BINDERS, also called resin, turns from a liquid to a solid and bonds to the surface like a glue.

  • PIGMENTS are sold particles that serve many functions. The most obvious benefits are color and opacity.

  • VEHICLES, simply stated, are various types of solvents used to reduce the paste created when BINDERS and PIGMENTS are combined. VEHICLES are divided between two general classifications - WATER BASED and SOLVENT BASED or OIL BASED.
